Essential Travel Information

Local Currency
The currency of Argentina is the Argentinean Peso $ (not the same as the Chilean Peso $ or the US Dollar $).
In both Buenos Aires and San Carlos de Bariloche international credit cards and US Dollars are widely accepted in both shops and restaurants, however we do advise that you carry some local currency with you. We will be on hand upon your arrival at Buenos Aires International Airport Ezeiza to help you, or you can of course change money during your free time in Buenos Aires or Bariloche city.

Vaccinations
All travellers are advised to visit either their personal physician or a travel health clinic 4 - 8 weeks before departure. They may recommend vaccination for Hepatitis A for a visit to Patagonia (for both Argentina and Chile).

Visas
Nationals of the European Union and USA with a valid passport do not require a visa to enter Argentina and are granted a 90 day tourist visa upon arrival. Citizens of other countries may require a visa to enter Argentina and we advise that they contact the Argentinean Embassy in their home country for accurate information. A reciprocity fee has been introduced for citizens of the USA ($131USD), Australia  ($100USD) and Canada ($75USD for a single trip and $150US for multiple entrances), which must be paid when entering the country via Ezeiza International Aiport.

Passports
You must have a valid passport. If you do not already have a passport you should apply for one now, as it may take some time. Please also check the date that your passport expires, as in some countries you may not enter unless your passport is valid for at least a further 6 months beyond the date you complete your trip.
