Here this summer? - 3 day Sea-Kayak Trip at the Península Valdés
and **NEW FOR 2012 - Spring Marine Nature Explorer - Available in September, October and November 2012**
Patagonia is home to numerous varied landscapes, activities and exceptional wildlife, but in addition to exploring Patagonia mountains, we particularly recommend the whale watching season (and especially sea kayaking and riding) in the waters that surround Península Valdés located in our neighbouring province Chubut.
The Península Valdés, a geographical accident resulting in a perfect habitat and haven for extraordinary fauna and flora, was declared as a Natural Humanity Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. It is home to an extensive variety of wildlife including colonies of marine birds, resting places for South American elephant seals and sea lion colonies, dolphins and orcas, and its biggest attraction - the Southern right whale breeding season - that takes place from June to December (high season October and November).
Other protected wildlife includes guanacos, maras, rheas, Magellanic penguins and migratory shore seabirds.
We wholeheartedly recommend staying away from the city of Puerto Madryn in the small and stunning Puerto Pirámides, just across the bay. From there you can whale watch, sea kayak, dive, hike and really soak up the magic away from the city.
≈ World's largest population of Southern right whales ≈ Half a day to over a week's kayaking with whales and our other Sea Kayak Expeditions (from 3 to 15 days, e.g. from the Andes To The Atlantic Ocean) ≈ Whale watching boat trips daytime or sunset ≈ Vast number of animal and bird species ≈ Eco Lodge or boutique hotel ≈ Camps or combinations of camping and hotels ≈ Fixed date and tailor made kayak trip departure dates ≈ Tailor made activities
Our sea kayaking adventures are lead by exceptional local experts Sofía and Pablo, who run personalised Sea Kayak Expeditions suitable for beginners and designed to coincide with the greatest concentration of wildlife at the time. Their unrivaled familiarity with the area and its wildlife is the result of personal experience over a lifetime living in and exploring Península Valdés...
