Exploring The Northern Patagonian Lake District

Riding In Patagonia invites you to experience a remote mountain equine adventure in an utterly untouched and forgotten region of the Argentinean Cordillera the Los Andes. This very special pack trip provides the chance to explore the unique hidden treasures to be found in and around the breathtaking Puelo National Park.

We will be exploring an otherwise inaccessible paradise whilst marvelling at its silent and unspoilt splendor. Our spectacular ride involves some steep slopes and deep glacial river-crossings as we meander our way through virgin pristine forest, camping at night time and dining under the stars. We will soak up the immense feeling of being in an exceptionally wild area and true immersion in nature, riding for 5 days in an unforgettable setting of unclimbed mountains, vast granite “Big Walls”, high hanging glaciers and stunning wildlife, and also have the opportunity for some extremely remote fly fishing as well, for those that wish to bring a rod.

For those with plenty of time, we then have to option to add on an exrta section, embarking on a spectacular boat journey to cross the international border into Chile with the destination of a private island in the northern Carretera Austral. We abandon our tents in favour a secluded and exclusive lodge, enjoying its comforts and a further ride amongst some of Patagonia’s most beautiful aquamarine lakes.
