Buenos Aires Hotels

The hotels that we work with are based in:

Palermo:  Buenos Aires' version of Chelsea come Notting Hill, this hip zone is brimming with fashionable restaurants and bars, excellent shopping (boutique and designer), along with some fantastic small hotels, both classic and modern. Leave the skyscrapers and take refuge in this trendy and vibrant neighbourhood. In Palermo we work with:
- Krista - Las Cañitas - Nuss - Pure Baires -

San Telmo: Close to the heart of B.A.'s downtown, San Telmo is home to tall colonial buildings, numerous antique stores, restaurants and cafes. Steeped in history with a relaxed, bohemian vibe, this is where the heart of the tango beats, and also host to the famous antique market every Sunday. In San Telmo we work with:
- Rick's Place -

and Recoleta:  B.A.'s version of Belgravia come Sloane Street and home to the tomb of Eva Peron, this is where the (still living) well-heeled residents of Buenos Aires walk their poodles and the ladies lunch.... Home to the creme de la creme of designer shopping and people watching, this is probably the most upmarket area to base yourself, although home to an older generation! In Recoleta we work with:
- CasaSur Art Hotel - Marseille des Anges -

Please note: the following descriptions have been written by us, and not by the hotels themselves...

Casa Las Cañitas is undoubtedly one of our favorites due to its very friendly atmosphere and size. A true home from home on a very pretty and quiet street, it has just 9 rooms and very comfy communal spaces. Its peaceful yet fun vibe is inspired by owner Monica whose enthusiasm for meeting guests and sharing her fanstastic local knowledge and good taste in wine, means that as well as being able to relax, you will also have a chance to chat to other guests (and maybe even eat your first Argentine asado) and immediately feel at home. Her delightful staff are always at hand to help with anything from choosing a restaurant to checking in for a flight.

The exclusive area of Las Cañitas (situated between Palermo and Belgrano) is just around the corner from the City's racecourse and polo grounds, as well as local bars, restaurants, designer stores and boutiques. It is a very short car journey away from the busier Palermo's numerous restaurants and shops, and also close to the upmarket area of Recoleta.

(9 ensuite rooms; breakfast included; families may connect 2 rooms into an apartment with ample privacy; larger groups may take over the whole casa; 2 top floor rooms each boast a private terrace; beauty room; jacuzzi in garden).

This is also one of our favorites and a very stylish option located in the heart of the pretty Palermo Hollywood, away from the bustle of Palermo Soho (whilst only a few minutes walk away from its bars and boutique and designer shopping) and surrounded by some of the most superb restaurants on offer anywhere.

With just 10 rooms, it maintains a wonderfully personal touch along with the highest standards. The stunning early 20th century building boasts beautiful wood panelling and antique decor, and its indiviually designed rooms are spread out between cool courtyards providing privacy and light; it is a very calm, welcoming and stylish space in a fantastic location, with very friendly and helpful staff.

(10 ensuite rooms; breakfast included; jacuzzi in final courtyard; families may connect 2 rooms into an apartment with ample privacy).

This little known hidden gem in the 'barrio antigua' of San Telmo is a delightful hideaway amongst all the fun of San Telmo, with a very peaceful family feel, an enormous roof terrace, and 2 further patios. The house, inspired and renovated by English John (and inhabited by Rick and some of his friends, with whom you are guaranteed to be enchanted) houses 8 rooms, a fantastic indoor wining/dining/breakfasting/stretching space along with its incredible roof terrace where anything might happen - from sunbathing to sundowners in the jacuzzi, movie night with John's projector and film collection, to an asado or cocktail party and dancing!

You can really enjoy the hispanic vibe of pure Buenos Aires from the wonderfully homely and friendy Rick's Place whilst in peace, surrounded by historical archictecture, fantastic restaurants and bars (which John is more than up to date on as well as running a dining club), and it is only a few blocks walk from the famous San Telmo sunday market and its live music and tango, along with all of bohemian San Telmo's antiques, bazaars and shops. Rick's Place's proximity to downtown centro, the obelisk, 9 de Julio and so on, makes it a great place to base yourself to explore B.A., but above all, to be part of Rick's family even for a short time is the icing on the cake here, and once again the very small size allows for a really personalised stay and lots of interaction with people (and animals!)

(8 ensuite rooms; breakfast included; jacuzzi on roof terrace).

Walking through the doors of the Marseille des Anges Hotel feels like stepping back in time. The incredible building dates from the early 18th century,  and has high ceilings, an enormous spiral staircase capped by a high glass roof,  beautiful decoration and plentiful antiques. With 20 rooms, it is one of the largest hotels on our list, slightly moving away from our boutique family vibe; nonetheless the hands-on enthusiastic owners and friendly staff, along with the splendid communal spaces you will want to enjoy as much as possible, mean that you will undoubtedly be keen to spend as much time inside the hotel as out whilst staying in this extraordinarily lavish mansion.

Located in the quieter southern end of Recoleta, Marseille des Anges is within a few blocks walking distance from Recoleta's main designer shops and restaurants, and conveniantly centrally located overall. We recommend the very elegant Suite Panoramique for its fantastic views and the Suite Romantique (views and more!).

(20 ensuite rooms; breakfast included; sauna and gym; business centre; jacuzzi in Suite Romantique; families may connect 2 rooms into an apartment with ample privacy).

For those wishing to spend a little more, PUROBAIRES is our favorite small option. With just 11 rooms, it feels like a mini five star hotel. Little known and superbly located, it maintains all the benefits of our other small favourites, along with the highest possible level of modern hotel services and style. With  space to relax (for example on the roof deck with plunge pool, sauna or mini spa) you will be enchanted by this delighful hotel and guaranteed a very relaxing stay as well as a friendly and intimate atmosphere, providing should you wish the chance to chat to other guests and meet the delightful staff. Each exceptionally elegant room has a balcony.

PUREBAIRES' location is less than 5 minutes walk from the heart of hip and vibrant Palermo, yet just far enough away from it all to feel utterly at peace. To take a stroll over to main Palermo hub is just a short walk through the pretty and leafy streets and typically low Palermo architecture, passing designer and boutique shops and some of the areas many restaurants. Truly a fantastic option.

(11 ensuite rooms each with jacuzzi bathtub and balcony; breakfast included; sauna and spa; mini business centre; roof garden with swimming pool).

Also higher end, Nuss is as central as it gets in Palermo. The very impressive building, superbly located just one block from the hub of Palermo, Plaza Serrano,  was originally a convent. Nowadays it homes 24 spacious rooms and an incredible roof terrace. It is on the larger side for us, but maintains a very friendly and lively atmosphere, and has a fantastic bar / deli and spa. The rooms are of an exceptionally high standard and if you wish to be right in the heart of it all this is a fantastic choice.

(24 ensuite rooms, breakfast included; spa and sauna; large roof garden with swimming pool).
